so i went to the annual lighting of the fresnel lens at the Pigeon Point lighthouse armed with only a Spectra, a Holga, and a dinky point and shoot.
The dang Spectra doesn't like to keep its shutter open very long. We'll see about the Holga, though to be honest I'm not very optimistic.
But there are so many beautiful shots from last night beginning to pop up on Flickr. It was such a gorgeous night ...

The explosive incident was created for the Weapons Intelligence Training course taught on Camp Marmal, sending automobile parts hundreds of feet into the air landing in all directions. The environmentally cleaned vehicle was destroyed to give students a chance to exploit a post blast incident. Students are learning to save lives by collecting information about enemy tactics, techniques, and the procedures to identify, track, and eliminate the bomb-makers. Upon completion of the WIT course, students will take their new skills out into the field for use in real world incidents. Brittle stars are among the many organisms scientists looked for in benthic trawls during the the 2004 Russian-American Long-Term Census of the Arctic (RUSALCA) mission. The 2009 RUSALCA mission set sail from Nome, Alaska on the Russian Research Vessel Professor Khromov on August 22, for a 40-day voyage into the Bering Strait and northwards to the Pacific side of the Arctic Ocean. Right after the big winter storm blew past, I ran down to Ocean Beach on the west end of San Francisco, and got a few shots of the sun, the rain, and the spectacular clouds and waves blowing around. I love the silhouette of the person walking dogs in the foreground, too. Best viewed large - click on "All Sizes" above to get a better view.
Goes to show you what you can do with a good 'ol 50mm lens... :-)

Charice in Netherlands Singing for Feyenoord Rotterdam in 2008 for their 100th anniversary Sept 6, 2008. Sang 3 songs And I am telling you, You'll Never Walk Alone, and I will Always Love you. Charice was first introduced to the Netherlands way back in June, 2008, when she was invited to sing at the 100th anniversary of Feyenoord Rotterdam, a soccer club from the Netherlands, after they had seen a video of her singing their theme song "You'll Never Walk Alone." This is her first biggest audience and also the largest to date (Mall of Asia 2010 was estimated 80-100K)
