Leica Noctilux vs M9. Canon 5D with 50mm f1.4

This is a short report about the Leica M9-P in combination with the 50 mm f/0.95 Noctilux. I have some time ago with a Canon 5 d in combination with the EF 50 mm f/1.4 or f/1.4 photographed the EF 24 mm.

So, this is also a subjective comparison of the two cameras in parts.
Bright and not cheap: the Leica Noctilux-M 50 mm f/0.95 - Source: Leica

In essence, I can summarize that for me changed, especially the type of photography: The Canon pictures are very professional, the Leica images are poetic. The following text my main impressions and a few sample images that help underpin the result:

The light intensity

The Canon 5D at ISO 1600 can operate in combination with a bright lens in low light conditions as well as the Leica M9-P in combination with the Noctilux. The Leica is still quite gracious to ISO 800, especially color photos are also noisier than it was with Canon in this case the ISO number. In this respect the more intense on the Leica lens and the sensor characteristics of the better Canon 5D same from each other.

Buy only for available-light photography is a Noctilux therefore makes no sense. In the dark at the Canon 5D turn up the ISO speed may not be the smartest way to take pictures - but the results are satisfactory. Thus the expensive optical solution Noctilux the electronic solution for Canon's equivalent.

It is more the character of the resulting images at f 0.95 and the imaging performance of the lens which are unique.
