PCI Express 4.0 - first info on the new technology

The new PCI Express 3.0 standard is just the first motherboards and chipsets in use, because We have now also been the announcement by the successor, PCI-Express 4.0. The new standard has now been unveiled by the PCI-SIG and from 2014 will come into play on motherboards.

PCI Express 4.0 will support bandwidths up to 16GT / s and will therefore bring about double the bandwidth than the current PCI Express 3.0 standard. Of the new standard would benefit in the future not only new graphics card because of the higher bandwidth, but also SSD storage media that exists now for the PCI Express interface. Unless we have new information or benchmarks for PCI Express 4.0, we will get back.
