Ay MaMa - Pravin Mani, Manicka Vinayagam, Suresh Peters, Srinivas, Karthik

I directed this video for composer Pravin Mani, way back in April 2002. Many of the faces in this video later became celebrities in the South Indian movie and television industry. The lead folk singer Manicka Vinayagam went on to become a sort of Indian 'Lou Bega' and an accomplished actor and singer in Tamil Cinema. A lot of nostalgia attached to it! I was just starting out then with my fledgling production company 'New Leaf Productions' - a beautiful name given by my business partner Pradeep. This video also won me a job to edit ARRahman's showreel, after he saw it! Pravin's idea was to create 'Total Chaos!' and mine was to film the chaos with 'total control'. We shot it with two Canpon XL1 cameras - the principal camera mounted on a crane operated by Shamdat and the second one amidst the dancing crowd in my hands...and of course the videographer you see twice in the video is me! And the whole video was shot in a single day - April 10, 2002 at AVM Studios, Chennai. Five long takes of the entire track! And all the other shooting crews working in other portions of the studio lot came to watch our shoot...some of them danced too...not just because they loved our track and work...but also because of our loud soundtrack possibly distracted their work! Music: Pravin Mani Lyrics: Kathalmathi Featuring: Manicka Vinayagam, Pravin Mani, Suresh Peters, Srinivas, Karthik Performers: Diya, Rajesh Hebbar, Jijoy, Bharani, Shankar, Sabu, Peppy and others Music Label: MO' Mani Music ...

Gms Vs Jimbo - Big Bang
Also known as the Growling Mad Scientists. The psytrance group Growling Mad Scientists (living in Ibiza formore than 10 years) regularly tour the world and have sold over 300000 albums on over 150 releases. GMS began when Riktam and Bansi met in high school at age 14 in Amsterdam. Both were passionate about electronic music, so the duo chose to leave school and seek their education in the club scene. Even though they were too young to legally enter a nightclub, Riktam and Bansi began spinning at clubs in Amsterdam. On most occasions, they had to be whisked into the building's side door to avoid scrutiny by the authorities. While in the DJ booth, they'd often receive double takes from clubbers who caught a glimpse of the two teenagers. This was the early '90s and Amsterdam's club/rave scene was in its infancy, and genres like Gabber dominated the fledgling culture. Two years later, Riktam and Bansi traveled to Goa and experienced a musical epiphany. It was in Goa, India they started playing Goa trance. In Goa, Riktam and Bansi DJ'ed at some of the wildest, most memorable parties of their young lives, which also brought them to gigs around Europe. When Riktam and Bansi returned to Amsterdam, one of their friends had purchased some recording equipment. They started their production career and called themself GMS After a few early singles, GMS released their debut album (Chaos Laboratory) on Alien News in 1997, which was recorded with former member Sebastian Claro, who left ...
