Barn Owl Starr Ranch - 3 chicks - Ma moves preys

Female Barn Owl on nest in tree, 3 chicks (10, 8 and 6 days old) and 1 unhatched egg can be seen. Female moves 2 preys over to her side at about 3:00 cliptime and puts them in front of her, then snoozes. Starr Ranch, CA - June 30, 11:15 PM local time (PST) site: www.starrranch.org

September 15, 2008: This Barn Owl nest box is located at the Brno Zoo, in Brno, Czech Republic. From the website on September 3: There are four hatched chicks in the nest. Today hatched the fourth young in the box and during the night you could see eggshell residues in the middle. It is not easy for female to convince all young to stay below her with remaining eggs - sometimes one gets out of her "heated armload" and try to return back clumsily. She will be very busy when all will be hatched! www.zoobrno.cz
