A birding trip with AviFauna, from Sweden. Most of the time we spent in Mato Grosso; Pantanal in the south, Serra das Araras in the southwest and Cristalino Jungle Lodge in the north. The last 4 days were spent in Itatiaia NP. Features bird species en masse, like Hyacint Macaw, Blue-and-yellow Macaw, Blue-winged Macaw, Red-winged Macaw, Blue-fronted Parakeet, Yellow-chevroned Parakeet, Wood Stork, Jabiru, Maguari Stork, Whistling Heron, Buff-necked Ibis, Guira Cuckoo, Greater Antbird, Barred Antshrike, Glossy Antshrike, Yellow-rumped Cacique, Wattled Jacana, Southern Lapwing, Collared Hawk, Harpy Eagle, Green-barred Woodpecker, White Woodpecker, White-spotted Woodpecker, White-headed Marsh-Tyrant, Cattle Tyrant, Saffron Finch, Rufous Hornero, Purplish Jay, Toco Toucan, Ringed Kingfisher, Amazon Kingfisher, Green Kingfisher, Chaco Chacalaca, Red-throated Piping Guan, Southern Screamer, Greater Rhea, Sunbittern and Hoatzin, just to mention a few (and in no particular order). Hummingbirds seen: Black Jacobin, Fork-tailed Woodnymph, Violet-capped Woodnymph and Brazilian Ruby. Other critters in frame are Capybara, Yacare Caiman, Marsh Deer, Brown-tufted Capuchin, Guaianan Squirrel and a host of butterflies and moths.
