Eagle Versus Owl Caught On Camera in Parksville

www.ctvvancouverisland.ca http PARKSVILLE - A Parksville golf course was the scene of a life and death battle last weekend. The skirmish pitted a Bald Eagle against a Great Horned Owl, and the entire deadly face-off was captured in a photographers lens. "My initial reaction; because I didn't want to see the owl hurt, was to scare the eagle away," said amateur photographer Wayne Duke, "but I said no, I have to let this unfold as it naturally would." The avid camera man let the rare and raw spectacle take its course. The owl was easily defeated, and flown away to a near by nest where it was transformed from a kill, into new life.
