I shot a magnificent small female Ruby-Throated Hummingbird bird feeding in HD (1280x720, 60fps!) using my pocket Kodak Zi-8 camera! Very nice green tone on her back, clean white below. The Ruby-Throated Hummingbird bird wings beat at 55 times/second in stationery mode ( 61x/s when moving backwards, and up to 75x/s when moving forward ) so having a 60 frames per second mode is perfect for this kind of video. Ruby-throated female hummingbird is slightly bigger than the male. The "nector" he is drinking here is made of 1 part sugar - 4 parts water. This is one of my very first video, so please forgive the quality. I tried to get the Hummingbird again that day but haven't had a better chance than this. Next time I go there I will bring my tripod and do something better, thanks! Filmed in Quebec, northern Canada, in early August 2010!
