US Embassy Tokyo, Deputy Chief of Mission Jim Zumwalt and his wife/Director of the Tokyo American Center, Ann Kambara visit the Imperial Cormorant Masters in Gifu. These Masters use traditional Japanese methods to catch ayu (sweet bait) using cormorants. The cormorants live in the homes of the masters and are treated as family members.
