2011年5月2日、子どもの安全基準20ミリシーベルト問題の政府交渉の場で、突然立ち上がり、安全基準を見直すように訴える女性がいた。嶋橋美智子さん。嶋橋さんは、1991年12月10日、浜岡原子力発電所で働く息子・伸之さんを白血病で失った。29歳だった。 伸之さんは、横須賀の工業高校を卒業後、中部電力の孫請け会社に就職。静岡県にある浜岡原子力発電所で働き始めた。伸之さんの仕事は、原子炉直下での燃料棒の点検作業。被ばく量は年間約7ミリシーベルト程度だったため、安全を疑ったことはなかったという。 結局、8年で累積した被ばく量は50ミリシーベルあまり。27歳のときに白血病を発症し、浜松医科大学病院に入院し治療を行ったが、2年後に亡くなった。嶋橋さんは、息を亡くして2年後労災を申請。全国に署名活動が広がり、合計40万人の署名を集め、申請から2年後に、労災認定された。 「子どもはこれからの人だから成長が早いです。だから発病が早いんです。」と語る嶋橋さん。浜岡原子力発電所が完全停止した今、その心境うかがった。 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 制作：OurPlanet-TV www.ourplanet-tv.org
