Lapwing's Deceit - Original Song by Ryan Dawson

Lapwing's Deceit - Original Song by Ryan Dawson
This song is new. It's a simple love song. I've been thinking a lot about faeries and peat bogs. This song reflects that. A lapwing is a kind of wading bird related to plovers. They have a sad, wailing cry. A group of lapwings is called a deceit., and a group of herons may be called a siege. --------------------------------- Walk the drowning fields with me Where deceits of lapwings wail and wade the reeds Under siege of herons long Dancing in the plover's song Dusk will come through nodding trees Till the lonely nightbird sings Foxfire burning where we'll lie in faerie rings Tempt the fair folk to appear Catch them as they wander near To shake the moondust from their wings I know you Don't believe in us I don't want to waste your time Just wait and have a little faith There's still magic left tonight At the brink of peat mud black Humped where willow saplings strive to suck them back Search the bog for dwarven doors Into ancient sycamores Wearing moss and acorn caps I have wanted you, it's true As the summer spell s of wailing lapwings do When they cannot find the wind And the cold is setting in Under skies of gloaming blue I know you Don't believe in us I don't want to waste your time Just wait and have a little faith There's still magic left tonight

Hello everyone and Nyob zoo! On April 23, a group of us friends traveled to MN to attend the Hmong National Development Conference. There we got the chance to be first to hear and see The Kong & Shu Project's rendition of the song "Hmoob Yuav Tsum Hlub Hmoob" by Dr. Nengzong Yang and Xa Lee in the 80's, which featured other Hmong artists such as Koungla Vang, Josh Khang "Proto J", Ciaj Sia Lee, Yeng Vang, Kace Vang, Tou Saiko Lee, Pagnia Xiong, Pat Her, Duce Khan, and Nia Lor. Inspired, our group of friends decided that we should do our own rendition of the song, our own Hmong Youtube Collaboration. After HND, Ong Vue went on to make the instrumental to Hmoob Yuav Tsum Hlub Hmoob. After months of restless nights working on the instrumental, we finally all got together to work on the music together. On June 13th, everyone met up in Plover, WI and Steven's Point, WI to record. This was a great experience. We really got to know each other and from there on became best of friends. After 3 months of music making, we finally have the final product done! Our goal in making this cover is to bring other Hmong Youtube Artists/Musicians together and have them do more collaborations. It's one of the best feelings in the world and we hope to see more collaborations in the future. The Youtube page is made mainly for Hmong Youtube Collaborations. Kauyer Lor and Ong Vue came up with the name "HmoobLubSuab" which in English translates to "The Voice of Hmong". The message of the song is ...
