Northern 155346 (and 158815) clags out Mirfield!! (29/05/2010)

Running on only one-and-a-half engines (the second carriage having blown its turbocharger out earlier in the day, and assisting an ailing 158815 (the front vehicle being utterly dead), 155346 opens up from Mirfield with quite an amount of grey/black smoke!!

Monterey Bay Aquarium Aviary
November 30, 2008: The Monterey Bay Aquarium has a beautiful aviary. There is a sandy area for shore birds and a pond for other aquatic birds. Some of the birds I saw were American Avocet, Black-necked Stilt, Killdeer, Lleast Sandpiper, Long-billed Curlew, Ruddy Turnstone, Sanderling, Snowy Plover, and Willet. These are all rescued birds who cannot be returned to the wild, due to their injuries. The aviary is very large, so they have plenty of room. They are fed a natural diet. The aviary is open from 10 - 5, after which is closes down so the birds have some quiet time to themselves.
