Observed for the past two years, "37K" owing to the appearance of brown posterior neck feathers, is entering the breeding phase of its life span. Often perched alone and apart from the local colony, this Pelican presents a most patient and observational behavior pattern. There haven't been many bait fish around lately and "37K" took to 'asking' for food from the local fishermen. Given that MOST pier fishermen treat the local bird populations as targets for their hooks and walk away after cutting the lines after they hook a bird, this species, the only one to dive into the ocean for their food source, must be tracked.
