Snowman Gameplay Demo

Snowman Gameplay Demo
This is the gameplay video for a small game demo made using the Unity3D game engine (or RAD tool to be more precise). The game was developed over a period of about eight weeks (from mid-June to mid-Aaugust 2010). The setting of the game is based on the novels Oryx and Crake and its sequel, the Year of the Flood, by Margaret Atwood. The game was developed in collaboration with two students, Kenneth McMorran and Vladeta Stojanovic, both from University of Abertay Dundee. Kenneth was responsible for developing the art content for the game demo, while Vladeta was responsible for integrating all of the game components together and programming the game demo in Unity 3D. The game was programmed mainly using JavaScript, with some game logic components programmed in C#. All of the models and levels were created by Kenneth, using Maya 2011 and Photoshop. The models were then animated and tweaked by Vladeta using Poser Pro and Milkshape 3D. All of the 3D game assets make use of the FBX file format. The visual style of the game makes extensive use of cel-shading (aka Toon shading), using Unity 3D's powerful built in material editor (and "off the shelf" shaders). This gives the game a unique "cartoonish" look. The game demo is available for both Windows and MacOS X. You can download the Snowman prototype from here: vladetastojanovic.weebly.com
