The Energy Platform and InnoEnergy, RAJEEV THOTTAPPILLIL (KTH) The research and education in Energy at KTH is conducted at various Schools of KTH, such as Architecture, Biotechnology, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering and Engineering Sciences. The Energy Platform at KTH ties together these various disciplinary approaches to Energy and brings them under one umbrella. The Energy Platform is one of the five strategic multidisciplinary research platforms at KTH, the other being Materials development, Information and communication technology, Transport research, and Medical and biomedical technologies. The European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) has selected the InnoEnergy consortium to form a Knowledge and Innovation Community (KIC) in the field of sustainable energy. The InnoEnergy consortium is part of the strategic initiative of the European Commission, to bridge the innovation gap in Europe and secure a competitive European leadership in the sustainable energy sector. The InnoEnergy consists of 36 partners clustered around 6 co-location centres across Europe. Stockholm is one of the co-location centres with KTH, Uppsala University, ABB, and Vattenfall as the main partners.
