Catablu Macaw (Catalina x Blue and Gold Hybrid Macaw)

He is about 2 1/2 years old and he is a DNA Male. He talks and likes to play and when he does not get the attention he want he will say out of the blue " GIVE ME FIVE" and or "HI" I have been asked if he bites: My response to that will be, YES HE DOES SINCE HE HAS A BIG BEAK. However, he has never bitten me or any of my family members. Now, he likes to play with you and he might nibble as I will show in the video and that is what MACAWS DO but it is not painful. I have also experience that if you are playing with him and he is reaching to hold on and you pull your arm he is going to hold on tight because he feel as he is falling down. That is not a bite that is just grabbing for dear life. This type of bird require that the owner learn as much as possible of the needs that they demand. It is imperative for the owner or would be owner to educate themselves before getting one as a pet. The price of a macaw is High and it depends in it coloration, vocabulary that he has learned and the amount of time that the breeder spends with the bird prior to selling them. If you are looking for a cheap bird then you must look for something else; perhaps a parakeet or rescue one.
